The Internal Affairs Division (IAD) is responsible for objectively investigating infractions of law, department rules, regulations, and policies on the part of any employee of the Sheriff's Office.  IAD is a means by which complaints and grievances are thoroughly, objectively, and expeditiously investigated.  There are two investigators holding the rank of sergeant assigned to IAD.  The division manager is Lieutenant Joseph Senn.

The Internal Affairs Division is located in the Montgomery County downtown courts annex at 301 N. Thompson, Ste 205.  To contact an IAD investigator you may call (936)538-3516 or email Lieutenant Joseph Senn.  Normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and investigators accept complaints by appointment only.

Complaints are investigated as regulated by the Texas Government Code Section 614.  If you wish to file a formal complaint, it must be made in writing with a notarized signature.  The civilian complaint statement can be obtained by accessing the links below.  Once completed, contact the IAD to make arrangements for an investigator to accept the form.  If you have completed the form and are in need of a notary, the IAD will assist you by notarizing the signature.
