Previously Captain Ronnie Silvio worked for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, in Houston, Texas from 1978 – 2013, from which he retired. There he served in the following capacities.
He was promoted in January 2009 as commander of the Patrol Bureau, consisting of five Patrol districts covering all of unincorporated Harris County. He also commanded the Crime Control Section, and K-9 Unit. There were 815 sworn personnel assigned to this bureau.
He was promoted in April 2005 as Divisional Commander of the Patrol Support Services Bureau. The bureau consisted of the Traffic Enforcement Section, Crime Control Section, K-9 Section, Bomb Unit, Aerial Unit, M.A.P. Section, Fleet Services Section, Parks Section, and Community Services Section. There were 318 sworn personnel assigned to this bureau.
He was promoted in January 1999 to the rank of Lieutenant and served in the Patrol Bureau, District II, as the Day Watch Commander and District Field Training Coordinator from 1999-2003. He then served in the Harris County Organized Crime & Narcotics Task Force as Field Commander from 2003-2005.
He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in July of 1994 and served as District Patrol Watch Supervisor, overseeing District Patrol, the Weed & Seed Task Force Group, and was the District II Field Training Supervisor from 1994-1999
