Captain Henderson
Captain Rand Henderson began his law enforcement career with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) in 1994. He was hired after completion of the Texas Peace Officer Academic Licensing Academy (TPOALA), which was co-hosted by the MCSO and Sam Houston State University. His first duty assignment was as a patrol deputy in The Woodlands where he was awarded officer of the year in 1996. Henderson promoted through the ranks and has held the positions of Patrol Deputy, Patrol Corporal, Patrol Sergeant, and Lieutenant with assignments to Administration, Public Information Officer, Patrol, and Internal Affairs. He was ultimately promoted to Captain in August 2009 and has served as the Division Manager for both the Jail and Patrol Divisions. Captain Henderson holds Bachelor of Science (1994) and Master of Science (2007) degrees in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) Leadership Command College, session #48, and a graduate of the FBI National Academy held in Quantico, Virginia, session #232. Captain Henderson also serves as an adjunct professor of Criminal Justice at Lone Star College - Montgomery and at Sam Houston State University.
